The VC 252, like all devices in the VC-200 series, is optimized for educational purposes and offers a measurement function for 1.5 V and 9 V batteries.

The impressive, clearly readable EBTN display is easy to read in both bright environments and darkness. With a display diagonal of 7.9 cm (3.1 inches), all digits and symbols are presented significantly larger, reducing the risk of reading errors.

Depending on the selected measurement parameter, the correct configuration of the measurement sockets is displayed, which is a great help for beginners and students to avoid incorrect handling. If the device is incorrectly connected despite the display, an alarm sound will be triggered.

To change the battery or replace fuses, the housing must be opened. For safety reasons, the measurement leads should not be connected during this process. This measuring device is designed so that the housing cannot be opened while the measurement leads are connected. The measurement leads can only be reconnected after the housing is closed, as the measurement sockets are mechanically locked.

The measurement lead is double-insulated in two colors. If the first layer of insulation is damaged, a differently colored insulation layer becomes visible, which is ideal for training devices to allow for early replacement of worn measurement leads.

This device features a self-resetting fuse for the measurement range up to 600 mA, eliminating the need to replace expensive high-performance fuses. This is particularly advantageous in educational settings. If the multimeter is still connected to a high-energy power supply in the µA and mA range, an additional glass tube fuse will trigger to protect the self-resetting fuse from overloads.
