With the particularly slim jaw of this clamp meter, individual wires between the cable duct and the contactor can be grasped much more effectively. This is the solution for tightly arranged wires in control cabinets. The specially shaped, narrow jaw allows for much easier access to closely wired cables in control panels. With conventionally shaped clamps, the wire to be measured usually has to be pulled out of the cable duct. Not so with the Voltcraft VC-337, which easily reaches between adjacent wires. The measuring opening has a diameter of 5.5 mm, allowing for the measurement of wires up to 6 mm². The clamp offers a very good compromise between the size of the jaw and the safety class with appropriate insulation. The clamp can also be comfortably applied at an angle, thanks to the shape of the opening. The open clamp has a stop that prevents wires from going too deep into the jaw. The 2-component housing with integrated soft rubber protection allows the measuring device to withstand tough use. The rubberized housing shell also makes the device very easy to grip. The clamp meter enables non-contact measurement of both direct and alternating current. The advantage of this measurement method is the clamping function, which allows for current measurements without the usual need to turn off and disconnect the circuit. This effectively avoids system downtime. The TrueRMS measurement allows for accurate measurement of asymmetric voltages and currents that deviate from the fundamental form of the sine wave. Asymmetric voltages often occur in power controllers such as dimmers, speed controllers, pulsed switch controllers, pulsed chargers, or electronic speed controllers in model building. Conventional average value measuring devices can show significant measurement deviations in such specific measurement tasks.
