Product details

This basil differs from regular basil in several aspects: it has a more intense flavor and retains its aroma even after baking. The flowers of the plant are fluffier. It is ideal as a flavorful seasoning for pizza or pasta.

Interesting facts: The perennial Greek oregano is the best variety among all oregano types. This nectar, fragrant, and spice plant, which grows to a height of 30-40 cm, should not be missing from any herb collection. The plant was introduced to us from Italy, but its name is Greek and means "decoration of the mountains." The compact plant has small, oval leaves and produces many small white or purple flowers in July and August. It can be kept in a pot, a bowl, a balcony box, or a garden bed. The plant is hardy, and harvesting is possible from spring to autumn.

Application: Greek oregano is the ideal spice for pizza and meat. It is also essential for meat sauces, pasta, and stews. It has a strong peppery aroma and is one of the most popular spices in the Mediterranean. The almost wilted leaves of Greek oregano taste excellent. Oregano stimulates the appetite, acts as an expectorant, and supports digestion.

Origin: Originally from Italy and Provence in southern France.

Cultivation: The seeds germinate well at 15°-22°C. After about 1-2 weeks, the first plants appear. Good potting soil or a suitable substrate is suitable for sowing. If sown outdoors, this should only be done in May when the soil has warmed slightly.

Care: Oregano loves sunny to fully sunny locations and calcareous soil in the garden. Good potting soil is ideal for pots and other plants. Water evenly, but not too much.

Overwintering: Greek oregano is hardy and can survive outdoors.

Seed packet containing over 200 seeds.
