Product details
The eucalyptus is a very beautiful ornamental plant that fits perfectly in any home or garden and brings a pleasant scent. Interesting facts: The eucalyptus, also known as the blue gum tree, grows quickly and is evergreen. It is popular as a potted or container plant, and since all parts of the plant contain essential oils, the menthol scent repels many pests. Origin: The plant is native to Australia and Tasmania. Cultivation: For faster germination, you should first place the seed packet in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days. Then sprinkle the seeds on moist seedling soil and cover them lightly with soil. At 20 °C, the seeds will germinate in just 2 to 3 weeks. Location/Light: A bright, sunny, and warm spot is required. Care: You should water the eucalyptus a lot, and in summer, even very much. Make sure to use lime-free water. To avoid waterlogging, a drainage layer of clay granules at the bottom of the pot is ideal. Fertilize carefully – it is sufficient to provide the plant with container plant fertilizer every 4 weeks from April to September. The eucalyptus can be pruned or thinned as needed if it seems too large for you. The roots should not be cut. Wintering: A bright location is important. Optimal temperatures are between 5 °C and 10 °C with adequate ventilation. After 2 to 3 years, the eucalyptus can also tolerate frost down to -8 °C. Seed packet containing 200 seeds.
