Growth/Location/Care: The edelweiss is the typical and probably the most well-known alpine rock garden plant. It produces woolly white flowers and grows as a low perennial. It should not be missing from any collection. The edelweiss thrives best in the sun and grows in rock crevices, on walls, and in troughs. Good drainage is essential. After flowering, you should cut off the withered stems above the leaves. It prefers calcareous soil.
