Product details

Genuine rosemary Provence / 100 seeds (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Interesting facts: This ancient, wonderfully fragrant plant originates from the rocky slopes near the coast and can grow very old. Even in a pot, rosemary can reach a considerable size and grows as a woody and branched shrub. Translated, the name means "dew of the sea". Humidity is therefore very good for it. Rosemary is the most popular spice in Mediterranean cuisine.

The Provence variety is characterised by its intense aroma and very robust growth. The flowers appear in a strong blue colour.

The variety is said to be hardy to -10°C.

Origin: The true rosemary is native to southern France and southern Spain.

Cultivation: Cultivation indoors is possible all year round. At a cultivation temperature of 16°-20°C, cultivation takes around 2-3 weeks. After this relatively long germination period, however, the plants continue to grow rapidly. The seeds should be sown indoors until May. The seedlings can then be placed outdoors from May.

Care: Herb soil, humus-rich, well-drained soil and loamy soil are suitable substrates. You can mix BioBizz Light-Mix with your old soil in a 50/50 ratio. Water generously in summer and fertilise every 2 weeks, for example with a complete organic fertiliser.

Overwintering: The Provence variety is partially hardy (down to -10°C). However, this is only possible if the location is sheltered and draught-free. The plant must not get its feet wet, otherwise it will slowly start to rot. It is much easier and safer to overwinter indoors in a bright and cool place. Water little. Repot and prune a little in spring.
