Australian pine / indoor bonsai this pine - also known as Australian beach pine - has leaves that look like pine needles and is a grateful plant that even grows in sandy soil and requires little water.

Origin:
The Australian pine is native to northern Australia. Now available as bonsai.
Cultivation:
The seeds can be grown indoors all year round. Sprinkle the fine seeds onto moist potting compost and cover the seeds thinly with the growing medium. The first seeds will germinate after just 2 to 3 weeks in evenly moist conditions.
Location / light:
Full sun is preferred. In summer, outdoor locations in front of light-coloured house walls are also possible. suitable for indoor gardening.
Watering and fertilising:
Always keep the soil slightly moist and avoid dryness and waterlogging. From April to September, you should feed the plant once a month with bonsai fertiliser. Do not fertilise at all in winter.
Pruning:
Once the shoots have grown 8 to 10 cm, they can be pruned back to 2 cm. Once a ground cushion has formed, the new shoots can also be plucked out with your fingers.
Soil:
1/2 standard soil, 1/2 sand or 1/3 standard soil, 1/3 peat and 1/3 sand.
