The Ethernet Adapter Module FENA-01 from the F series is an Ethernet adapter module with one port that supports various communication protocols, such as PROFINET IO, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP. The selection of the protocol is made via a parameter in the frequency converter.

PROFINET
The adapter module supports PROFINET IO DP-V1 communication. With the FENA-01/-11 module, the PROFINET network can use either the PROFIdrive or the ABB Drives profile. Additionally, there are two transparent operating modes for 16-bit and 32-bit words.

Ethernet/IP
The Ethernet Adapter Module FENA acts as an Ethernet/IP server and supports the profiles ODVA AC/DC Drive, ABB Drives, and Transparent. The adapter module supports both explicit messaging, where each attribute of a class is set individually, and implicit messaging with input and output instances.

Modbus TCP
The adapter module acts as a Modbus/TCP server and supports the profiles ABB Drives and Transparent. Common read/write function codes for single and multiple registers are supported.
