Structure and Functionality: Wheel locks differ from standard wheel bolts and nuts due to their special hexagonal outer contour. Operation: To operate, it is necessary to press the key axially against the wheel lock with sufficient force while applying torque. Otherwise, the positive fit contact under load may break, leading to damage to the key or the wheel lock. This risk is particularly present when the rotational axis of the key does not align precisely with the longitudinal axis of the wheel lock, for example, when the tool is applied at an angle or held unsteadily. Since the profile depth of many wheel locks is often only a few millimeters, the risk of slipping is generally higher than with standard hexagonal wheel bolts or nuts; therefore, precise operation is required.
