The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular socket. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The best possible power transmission from screwdriver to screw thanks to T-STAR plus enables you to work quickly and much more efficiently than with all other drives.
The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) mills a recess into the wood with its polygonal underside ("pockets") and can therefore be countersunk without additional countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head is flush with the surface.
In contrast to the partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from screw to wood. These fully threaded screws are primarily used for heavy-duty timber joints.
With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to galvanising in terms of corrosion protection. No chromium(VI) is used with WIROX, the screws are just as resilient even after years in outdoor areas that are not directly exposed to the weather, and are also environmentally friendly. WIROX screws are the first choice for all open structures without direct weathering, such as carports or pergolas. For direct weathering, such as patios, the use of stainless steel screws is recommended.
