Type HK needle bushings are needle bearings with a thin-walled outer ring made using a chipless manufacturing process. Their key features include a very low cross-section height and high load capacity. They are primarily used where housing bores cannot be designed as raceways for needle cages, and where particularly space-saving and economical bearings are desired. They are pressed into the housing bore and fit securely. This allows for simple and cost-effective manufacturing of housing bores when no shoulders or retaining rings are needed for axial fixation. The outer ring is made of hardened steel sheet, and the cage-guided needle cage forms a self-holding unit. Main dimensions: ISO 3245:2007 / DIN 618-1:1993 / DIN 618-2:1993, as far as standardized.
