Type HK needle bushings are needle bearings with a thin-walled outer ring made using a chipless manufacturing process. Their key features include a very low cross-section height and high load capacity. They are primarily used where the housing bores cannot serve as raceways for needle cages, and where compact and economical bearings are desired. They are pressed into the housing bore and fit securely. This allows for simple and cost-effective manufacturing of the housing bores when no shoulders or retaining rings are needed for axial retention. The outer ring is made of hardened steel sheet, and the cage-guided needle cage forms a self-retaining unit. Main dimensions: ISO 3245:2007 / DIN 618-1:1993 / DIN 618-2:1993, as far as standardized.
