Angular contact ball bearings have raceways in the inner and outer rings that are displaced in the direction of the bearing axis. They are designed for bearing arrangements that must accommodate combined loads, i.e., loads that act simultaneously in both radial and axial directions. Single-row angular contact bearings can only accommodate axial loads in one direction. Under radial loads, an axial force is generated within the bearing that must be balanced by an opposing force. Therefore, the bearings are positioned against a second bearing.

Single-row angular contact bearings are available in two versions for different purposes:

• Basic design bearings for bearing arrangements with single bearings (BEP)
• Bearings for universal adaptation (BECBP)
