The specified depth measurements refer to the total depth for each unit. The Sirius 3RW40 can be integrated into a motor control system that uses other control device products from Sirius, such as 3-pole overload relays from the 3RV10 series. It offers two phase controls as well as soft starting and stopping of three-phase asynchronous motors with minimal power loss. The switching voltage is adjustable from 40 to 100% of the operating voltage.

The device features built-in bypass contacts, is suitable for DIN rail mounting, and has a compact design with corresponding dimensions. It provides a status indicator, electronic motor overload protection, and intrinsic device protection, as well as adjustable current limitation. An optional thermistor motor protection (up to version S3) and integrated remote reset (up to version S3) are available.

Additionally, integrated auxiliary contacts "Self-hold" and "Start-end" are present. The self-hold contact is used for locking when the control is operated with a simple on/off switch. The start-end signal can be used to operate other parts of the system, such as a pump. This is the ideal replacement for direct and star-delta starters.
