The SINAMICS Sine Filter for Power Module FSA is designed for installation and is suitable for 3AC 380-480V with 3.5A. This electrical filter limits both the voltage rise time (du/dt) and the peak voltages at the motor winding. Similar to an output inductor, it allows for the connection of longer motor cable lengths. Additionally, bearing currents are significantly reduced, enabling standard motors with standard insulation and without insulated bearings to be operated with SINAMICS.

The voltage stress on the motor winding is thus nearly at a level comparable to direct grid operation. Due to the very low voltage rise times on the motor cable, the sine filter also positively impacts electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The sine filter is available for both sizes of Power Modules FSA and FSB, suitable for installation, and operates within the three-phase voltage range of 380 V to 480 V.
