From spring to autumn, a Monstera deliciosa should be kept in a bright, non-sunny location. However, during the low-light winter months, the plant can also be placed in direct sunlight. In areas with insufficient light, the leaf stems of the Monstera will elongate, and the leaves will remain smaller. On days with low humidity, the Monstera should be misted more frequently. Watering a Monstera deliciosa should be done evenly, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. If the plant is overwatered, the leaf edges will turn black. For watering, only use soft, stale, and room-temperature water. The Monstera deliciosa cannot tolerate waterlogging or complete dryness. Its nutrient requirements are moderate. A liquid fertilizer should be applied every two weeks, and from September to March, the plants should be fertilized less frequently and in smaller amounts.
