ESD transport carts counteract electrostatic charges and protect electronic components. The housing is galvanized and features an electrically conductive powder coating in gentian blue (RAL 5010). The swivel casters are equipped with electrically conductive solid rubber tires and roller bearings. A brake on the swivel casters complies with the European standard EN 1757-3. The fixed wheels (non-swiveling) are also fitted with electrically conductive solid rubber tires and roller bearings. The loading surface is made of electrically conductive particle board in white.

Frictional electricity occurs, for example, when walking on a carpet, where a person can become charged with approximately 30,000 volts. Electrical discharges can cause significant damage to microelectronic components or potentially trigger a fire in flammable areas. Electrostatic discharges are prevented through the conductive connection of all metal parts, the incorporation of metallic conductors such as graphite particles, and the use of electrostatically dissipative materials. These materials have a slightly increased electrical conductivity due to additives, safely dissipating generated electrical charges while also preventing high-current discharges.
