    High-quality lamp that has its price but gives a lot of pleasure

    We have now replaced all the downlights in our house with Hue GU10s. Despite the considerable purchase price, we have not regretted the change to date: there are almost unlimited possibilities to control the colours and luminosity of each individual lamp or entire groups via apps. In case of absence, they can also be programmed on/off times via timer, also with random function.

    We have great pleasure with our Hue system every day :)     

    Pro

    • powerful, warm light (standard when switched on)
    • many apps to control (my favourite: iConnectHue)
    • wide colour gamut

    Contra

    • Length of the lamp, has partly led to bottlenecks in the ceiling opening
    • Range of the base station is already limited from 2 floors (2nd base possible)

    Super RGB spot with control via Hue Bridge and many apps for all platforms

    I can only agree with the previous assessment: Really not cheap, but in comparison to a usual, single-colour spot (also hardly selectable in colour) clearly superior to this one:

    I actually don't like the typical warm     incandescent lamp colour tone and can now finally activate hard white with these spots. In connection with the appropriate plug-in for Kodi/XBMC, the light now also goes out automatically when a film starts and comes back on again when there is a break or at the end. Super practical and almost like in the cinema.

    The other advantages have already been mentioned.

    Apps and programmes are available for Windows, as a Windows 10 app, for Android and iOS, not only from Philips. The Android apps work without problems on Blackberry 10.

    Unfortunately, there are no Philips Hue lamps with E14 sockets.     

    Pro

    • Any (RBG) colours and brightnesses adjustable, can be organised in scenes and groups
    • "Warm light" at about 90% power standard with "power on" even without app

    Contra

    • not cheap
    • Due to the principle, somewhat larger than usual GU10 spots, stand out a little more
    • Configuration of the operating mode when the current is activated unfortunately not configurable

    Wrong product is delivered

    The lamp supplied is not the 6.5 W lamp but the 5.7 W lamp.
    The problem has existed for some time and has been pointed out in various comments, but the wrong lamp is still supplied.
