In today's world of electronics and technology, one inevitably encounters the phenomenon of "ESD" (electrostatic discharge). Many components, modules, circuit boards, etc., are highly sensitive to electrical discharges that are completely normal and often unnoticed in everyday life. These voltage surges can destroy electronic assemblies or at least cause lasting damage – meaning a damaged component may continue to function for a while before succumbing to the originally ESD-induced damage, potentially leading to further costly secondary damage.

This all-inclusive package contains everything needed for handling electronics. The vinyl-coated work mat has a resistive value of 10^7 – 10^9 Ohms, is abrasion-resistant, and offers a certain degree of heat resistance, such as from dripping solder. The square shape of the mat proves advantageous during work – in each of the left and right corners, there is a 10 mm snap button where the included wrist strap and grounding connection can be attached. Along with the grounding wire, a protective contact plug according to German standards is also included, eliminating the need for potentially adventurous wiring experiments with the grounding point or an additional purchase for proper connection.
