Product details

The Yucca Elephantipes is a large indoor palm that originated in Central America. Here, this palm species is often cultivated in large tree nurseries deep in the rainforest. The yucca owes its name to its heavy rootstock, which is reminiscent of elephant feet. The leaf of the Yucca Elephantipes is thick and fleshy with a sharp, finely serrated edge. The lower leaves of Yucca die off naturally as the houseplant grows. These should be carefully removed to maintain a tidy appearance.

Care
Yucca is one of the easiest houseplants available, as the plant does not require much water. Watering the plant once every fortnight is more than enough. It is very important that no water remains at the bottom of the pot, otherwise the roots will rot. The yucca prefers a bright location, but be careful not to place it in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight leads to discolouration of the leaves. The yucca needs sufficient nutrients every 2-3 months to keep its leaves nice and green. Please note that the plant is poisonous to both humans and animals.
