Product details

Originally, the Jatropha Podagrica comes from the tropical regions of Central America. It can grow with impressively thick stems and large leaves. Fortunately, they do not grow as large indoors. Even small and young plants can develop leaves that are larger than your hand. Additionally, the Jatropha blooms in summer with beautiful red flowers, with a flowering period of 20 weeks. Its nickname is the Buddha Belly plant due to its unique shape.

Care
The Jatropha Podagrica is a succulent, which makes care very easy, as succulents require very little water or attention. Only in summer does it need a bit more water, as the plant blooms during these months. The Jatropha prefers a bright location, but do not place it in direct sunlight. Make sure the soil dries out between waterings. Keep the soil particularly dry in winter, as the Jatropha needs very little water during this time. Caution is advised with pets, as the Buddha Belly plant is toxic. Additionally, the leaves will turn yellow and eventually fall off in winter. Starting in February, the plant will begin to produce new leaves again.
