The Ilex Grenata Jenny is an improved version of the Ilex Crenata, also known as Japanese Holly. This plant is evergreen, disease-resistant, and very low-maintenance. In summer, small white flowers bloom, which later turn into black berries. Birds particularly enjoy these berries, especially during the winter months, so you will often have delightful guests in your garden. The Japanese Holly is increasingly being used as a substitute for Boxwood, as it does not suffer from fungal and moth infestations, which are common with Boxwood. Additionally, the plant is hardy and evergreen, ensuring you can enjoy the beautiful Japanese Holly all year round. This Ilex Grenata Jenny has been pruned into a lovely spherical shape.
Care
Ilex Grenata Jenny prefers a sunny location with occasional shade. It should be pruned at least twice a year, but for optimal shape stability, a three-time pruning is recommended. The plant can be trimmed from May to September, for example, once in May, once in July, and the last time in August. Furthermore, the plant is very low-maintenance and adapts well to almost all weather conditions.
