Product details
The Kentia palm, also known as Howea forsteriana, is a relatively slow-growing palm. Originally from Oceania, it has become a popular houseplant today. This large plant undoubtedly brings an exotic atmosphere to your office or living room. The forsteriana is the only Kentia species cultivated in our climate. It belongs to the palm family, has an elegant growth habit, and features soft leaves with a beautiful, glossy dark green color. It is also one of the oldest houseplants. The plant is delivered at a height of 130-140 cm (measured with the pot).
Care
The ideal temperature for this large palm ranges between 15° and 25° C. From February to September, weekly watering is sufficient. During the rest of the year, the plant only needs to be watered once a month. The palm is very low-maintenance, as it requires little water. However, it is important that the soil does not stay dry for too long. The Kentia prefers a shady or partially shaded location. The plant should never be placed in direct sunlight, as this can cause the leaves to burn. Therefore, it is best to position it near a north-facing window. If the leaves become lighter or yellow, you should move it to a shadier spot.
