Plant in a Box Dahlia Mary Evelyn - Set of 3 dahlias
10 cmProduct details
The dahlia 'Mary Evelyn' is a beautiful summer bloomer that steals the show in the garden for months. It blooms from July until the first frost. The dahlia grows to about 90 cm tall and pairs well with perennials and other dahlia varieties. The stunning red flowers, featuring a unique white-pink collar of additional petals in the center, are a real eye-catcher in the flowerbed. Dahlia 'Mary Evelyn' is also an excellent cut flower and lasts a long time in a vase, making this special plant very versatile. The best time to cut dahlias is early in the day. Place the stems directly in lukewarm water with flower food, and you can enjoy the beautiful blooms indoors as well. Dahlia tubers can be planted from March to May, after the last frost.
Care
Dahlia tubers can be planted in late spring, but be mindful of late night frosts. The plants are frost-sensitive. Dig a spacious planting hole, loosen the soil, and fill the hole with good potting soil. Carefully place the tubers in the hole and cover them with 3-5 cm of soil. The planting distance for the dahlia 'Mary Evelyn' tubers is 30-60 cm. Water the tubers immediately after planting. Dahlias bloom most abundantly in full sun. Store the tubers in a frost-free place after flowering, and you will enjoy them for years to come.
