Product details
The Chamaerops Humilis is one of the most common palm species in Northern Europe and the only palm that occurs naturally in Europe. Therefore, it is also known as the European Fan Palm. It is a very robust and compact palm that, in addition to its own trunk, produces several offshoots, allowing it to grow wide even at a young age. In some Southern European countries, the palm can reach heights of up to 3 meters in the wild and form dozens of trunks. The balcony plants are hardy for outdoor use. It is a beautiful and low-maintenance palm that can be planted in the ground or in a pot in the garden or on the terrace.
Care
The Chamaerops Humilis prefers a sunny and bright location as well as well-drained soil. The plant tolerates heat and drought but should be watered regularly during hot summers. Ensure that water can drain from the pot, so plant the Chamaerops in a pot with holes. Additionally, the palm is hardy down to -15 degrees Celsius. This means you need to bring the Chamaerops indoors if extreme frost is expected. Its slow and compact growth makes the Chamaerops Humilis an ideal potted plant, although you can also perfectly plant the palm directly in the ground.
