Product details
Campsis Radicans has beautiful orange-coloured trumpet flowers that immediately give your garden a Mediterranean atmosphere. Campsis is also known as the trumpet climber. The plant grows upwards with the help of adhesive roots. These roots allow the plant to climb along a wall or fence. The trumpet climber is therefore also very suitable for a smaller urban garden. This fast-growing climbing plant is originally from America, but is also common in Italy, Spain, Greece and Croatia. It is therefore quite possible that you will have encountered it on holiday. Fortunately, Campsis is sufficiently hardy so that you can easily bring that holiday feeling into your own garden. Campsis radicans grows quickly and can reach a height of up to 5 metres.
Care
Place the plant in a sunny and somewhat sheltered spot. In a sunny position, this trumpet flower will flower more profusely and for longer. Campsis flowers relatively late in the summer. When most plants have already finished flowering, the trumpet flower is a colourful addition to the garden. The plant does not need much water, but should be watered sufficiently, especially in the first year when it is hot or dry. Don't be afraid to cut the Campsis back if it gets too big and wild. It is a vigorous and fast-growing plant that doesn't mind much.
