The Camellia Japonica Dr King, also known as the Japanese rose, is a must for every garden. The plant is native to China, Japan and Vietnam, where it grows high in the mountains. Care
The camellia prefers a slightly acidic soil, preferably with plenty of humus. In summer, it is important to keep the soil around the plant well moist. The plant prefers a spot in partial shade. Over time, the plant will grow into a large shrub, but several plants can also be grouped together to form a large shrub. In addition, the camellia does not grow quickly, usually about 15-20 cm per year. It is therefore not necessary to prune the plant regularly, especially not in the early stages. However, it is important to remove spent branches and spent flowers.
