Product details

The Brugmansia plant used to belong to the Datura family. However, decades ago, this group was divided into Datura and Brugmansia. The main difference between these two plants is the trumpet-shaped flowers. The trumpet tree has white, yellow, or red flowers. The flowers of the Brugmansia are much larger than those of the Datura. Brugmansia is a true container plant that spreads its sweet fragrance on any balcony or terrace. This plant thrives in the European climate during the summer. It can also be kept outdoors in the winter months as long as it does not freeze. Due to the shape of the flowers, Brugmansia is also known as angel's trumpet. The evergreen tree grows very quickly and has beautiful, lush, and pleasantly fragrant blooms. The leaves are large, gray-green, and soft with a serrated, wavy, or smooth edge. The trumpet-shaped flowers are very large, measuring up to 14-50 cm long and 10-35 cm in diameter.

Care
The large leaves of Brugmansia are hairy and evaporate so much water during the summer months that you will need to water the Brugmansia daily. Be careful, as constantly wet soil can lead to root rot. In winter, you can water less frequently and allow the soil to dry out a bit after watering. It is easy to tell when the plants need water: the leaves will droop. Brugmansia prefers summer heat and thrives well in full sun.
