Product details

The beautiful Acer Orange Dream has a spherical growth habit with deeply incised leaves. This maple actually changes colour all year round, from fiery red to red-pink in spring, the leaves turn blue-green with red veins towards summer and the maple returns to its red colour in autumn. This maple is also very suitable for a compact garden as it grows slowly. If the maple becomes too large, cut it back in March.

Care
Japanese maples are best planted from March to the beginning of October. During this time, the soil is warm and the plants can root well. This plant does not require any special potting soil in a planter. Japanese maples are vigorous plants, but the leaves can be damaged in a windy location. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a spot in partial shade, preferably without too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out, which can lead to leaf loss and burns. The Japanese maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very hardy down to -20°C and sprouts beautiful new leaves in March.
