Product details

The Acer shirasawanum 'Moonrise' is one of the many varieties of Japanese maple. This Japanese maple features beautiful colors that will enhance your garden. In spring, the Acer produces orange leaves with a unique shape. In summer, the leaves turn bright yellow, and in autumn, they transform into red-orange. This mix of colors makes it a special sight and a lovely addition to your garden.

Care
The Moonrise is a slow-growing tree with a narrow, upright growth habit that keeps the plant compact. This allows you to grow this tree in a pot or in a smaller garden. Japanese maples are best planted from March to early November. During this time, the soil is warmer, and the plants can establish their roots easily. Japanese maples are robust plants, but in a windy location, the leaves can be easily damaged. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a location in partial shade, ideally with not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots and leaves to dry out, leading to leaf damage. The Japanese maple is not evergreen, meaning it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very resilient and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves.
