Product details
The Acer shirasawanum 'Moonrise' on a stem is one of the many varieties of Japanese maple. This Japanese maple grows on a stem. This Japanese maple has beautiful colours that will brighten up your garden. In spring, the Acer has orange-coloured leaves with a special shape. In summer, the leaves turn bright yellow and in autumn they turn red-orange. This mixture of colours makes it a special sight and a beautiful addition to your garden.
Care
The Moonrise is a slow-growing tree with a narrow, upright growth habit that keeps the plant compact. This means you can grow this tree in a pot or in a smaller garden. Japanese maples are best planted from March to early November. During this period, the soil is warmer and the plants can root easily. Japanese maples are vigorous plants, but in a windy location the leaves can easily be damaged. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a spot in partial shade, preferably with not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots and leaves to dry out, which can lead to leaf damage. The Japanese maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very resilient and sprouts beautiful leaves again in March.
