Product details
Acer palmatum Emerald Lace is a beautiful Japanese maple. The deeply lobed leaves of Acer palmatum 'Emerald Lace' shine in a bright lime green in spring. As summer approaches, the leaves turn red, creating a striking contrast. Finally, in autumn, the foliage takes on a red-orange hue before falling to the ground. This maple is the perfect small garden tree, as it displays different colors throughout the year.
Care
Maple trees are slow-growing trees with a narrow, upright growth habit that keeps the plants compact. This allows you to plant these trees in pots or in a smaller garden. Japanese maples can be best planted from March to early November. During this time, the soil is warmer, and the plants can root easily. Japanese maples are robust plants, but their leaves can be easily damaged in a windy location. Therefore, place the maple trees in a sheltered spot. The plants prefer a location in partial shade, ideally with not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots and leaves to dry out, leading to leaf damage. Japanese maples are not evergreen, meaning they lose their leaves in winter. However, these plants are very resilient and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves.
