Product details
Acer palmatum 'Black Lace' is a rare Japanese maple available in limited quantities. This beautiful small Acer tree features deeply cut and lobed leaves. When the leaves first emerge in spring, they are strikingly reddish-purple and gradually turn bronze-green in summer. In autumn, they transform once again, offering a spectacular display of rich purples and bright oranges. Therefore, this Acer provides something to look forward to in almost every season. The Acer Black Lace grows into an eye-catching tree suitable for a medium-sized garden, reaching up to 2 meters in height.
Care:
Japanese maples are best planted from March to early October. During this time, the soil is warm, allowing the plants to establish good roots. In a planting container, this plant does not require special potting soil. Japanese maples are robust plants, but their leaves can be damaged in windy locations. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a location in partial shade, ideally without too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can dry out the roots, leading to leaf loss and burns. The Japanese maple is not evergreen, meaning it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very resilient and will sprout again with beautiful new leaves starting in March.
