With this keyway broaching set, keyways with widths of 4, 5, 6, and 8 mm can be broached. The set includes not only the broaching tools but also 13 guide bushings with diameters ranging from 12 to 30 mm, four key stock blanks (3.9 x 3.9 mm, 4.9 x 4.9 mm, 5.9 x 5.9 mm, and 7.9 x 6.9 mm), as well as five spacers. Broaching tools are typically used in rack and pinion presses or hydraulic workshop presses. The broaching tools are made of HSS steel and are slightly tapered, with the cutting edges thickening in the direction of cut. This design allows each tooth to cut the keyway slightly deeper. To broach a keyway, the workpiece is placed on the press table, and the appropriate guide bushing is inserted into the hole of the workpiece. The broaching tool is then inserted into the holder, lubricated with sufficient cutting oil, and pressed through the workpiece using the press. To achieve a deeper groove, the spacers can be used.
