This thread repair kit for thread sizes M5, M6, M8, M10, and M12 includes an HSS core drill for removing the damaged thread, an HSS tap for the receiving thread, an insertion tool, a pin breaker, and a larger number of stainless steel thread inserts for each respective thread size. The repair kit is delivered in a practical wooden storage box with a foam insert.

Brief instructions for use (using a defective M8 thread as an example): Drill out the damaged thread with the spiral drill from the M8 repair kit. Use the tap from the M8 repair kit to cut the receiving thread for the M8 insert. Screw the M8 insert into the cut thread using the insertion tool from the M8 repair kit. Remove the pin on the thread insert with the help of the pin breaker.
