The OBO Bettermann V20-C 3PH-600 surge arrester is a highly advanced solution for protecting photovoltaic systems. This Type 2 surge arrester provides an effective way to safeguard electrical systems against overvoltages that can be caused by lightning strikes or other electrical disturbances. The complete unit consists of a pluggable varistor arrester equipped with a thermo-dynamic disconnection device. This ensures that in the event of an overvoltage, the arrester is safely disconnected from the circuit. The fault-resistant Y-circuit and the surge protection potential equalization guarantee reliable operation in accordance with applicable standards (VDE 0100-712 and IEC 60364-4-44). With a maximum discharge capacity of 40 kA per pole and a low DC protection level of under 2.6 kV, this surge arrester is ideal for use in PV systems, both with and without a separate lightning protection system.
