Light requirement:
Phalaenopsis orchids prefer indirect light or slightly shaded light. Direct sunlight can burn their leaves. An ideal location is near an east or west-facing window where they receive bright, indirect light in the morning or afternoon. Avoid direct sunlight, especially at midday. If they get too much sun, the leaves may turn yellow or suffer burns. The leaves of the Phalaenopsis orchid often give an indication of its light requirements. Healthy leaves should be light green in color. If the leaves are dark green, this could indicate that the plant needs more light. Yellow or red leaves can be a sign of too much direct sunlight.

Watering:
Watering a Phalaenopsis orchid is crucial for its healthy growth and flower production. Phalaenopsis orchids need even moisture, but they should not stand in water. The roots of the orchid must be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings. The frequency of watering depends on various factors, including humidity, temperature, light conditions and the substrate used. As a rule, it is sufficient to water the orchid approximately every 7-10 days. Watering tip: Immerse the orchid pot in a bucket or basin of lukewarm water and leave it to stand for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the roots to absorb the water without being flooded. Then drain the pot to remove excess water. Aerial roots: The orchid has aerial roots that serve to absorb moisture from the air. These roots should not become completely dry, but they should not be constantly moist either.
