The D-fuse system is a first-generation screw fuse system. It is still commonly used in installations. The D-fuse system is employed in low-voltage installations where the fuse inserts are accessible to laypersons and can be replaced by them. The D-fuse series includes sizes NDZ, DII, DIII, DIV, and DV. D-fuse inserts are used to protect lines and installations. They safely disconnect unauthorized overloads and short-circuit currents up to the rated current. D-fuse inserts of the utilization class gG also protect electrical devices and installations from the electrodynamic effects of high short-circuit currents.
