Product details

Origin
The Strelitzia nicolai is originally from South Africa. It is a species of the family Strelitziaceae and is named after the Russian Tsar Nicholas I.

Characteristics
It is a tall plant with leathery, glossy leaves. The leaves are dark green, lance-shaped, and can grow up to two meters long. The plant produces striking flowers with white and blue tones that resemble the head of a bird of paradise, hence the name. The flowers typically bloom in late winter or early spring.

Care
The Strelitzia nicolai requires a lot of light but does not handle direct sunlight well. The plant needs plenty of water, especially during the growing season, but it is also important to ensure good drainage to avoid waterlogging. This plant prefers nutrient-rich soil and can benefit from regular fertilization during the growing period. The Strelitzia nicolai can be taken outside in the summer but needs protection from frost in the winter.
