The Calathea prefers a semi-shady to shady location, as it cannot tolerate direct sunlight. Ideally, the temperature should be between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius and should never fall below 15 degrees Celsius. This plant loves high humidity, so it is advisable to regularly mist the leaves or use a humidifier. With these conditions, the Calathea will feel comfortable almost anywhere in your home.

The soil of the Calathea should always be kept evenly moist, without causing waterlogging. Regularly check the top layer of soil for dryness and water as needed. Especially in winter, the plant requires less water, but the soil should never dry out completely. Use water that is as low in lime as possible, such as filtered or stagnant water.

Fertilize your Calathea every 4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a liquid fertilizer for houseplants. In autumn and winter, fertilization can be reduced or completely stopped.
