Product details
With the laurel cherry, you are choosing one of the best solutions for planting a hedge. It is also the ideal option for a privacy screen that spans just a few meters. With a growth height of up to 3.5 meters, it provides the perfect measure to block views from the other side. Its white flower spikes emit a delicate fragrance from May to June. It thrives beautifully in sunny and partially shaded locations.
Prunus laurocerasus Rotundifolia grows bushy, upright, and dense, typically reaching a height of 2.5 to 3.5 meters and a width of 1 to 1.5 meters. This is a fast-growing plant, usually growing 20 to 40 cm per year.
Spring and autumn are the best planting times, but container plants can be planted year-round. The planting hole should be twice as large and deep as the root ball. Remove the pot, loosen the root ball, place the plant in the hole, fill with soil, press down firmly, and water thoroughly.
This plant has a moderate water requirement.
Tip: Cut back frozen shoots to healthy wood as soon as there is no longer a risk of frost. Water less frequently but thoroughly and deeply. This encourages the plant roots to penetrate deeper soil layers, helping them withstand dry periods better.
Planting should take place between March and October, and fertilizing should be done from March to April. Water the plant from May to September and mulch from March to April. A pruning, ideally from mid-March to early April, is advisable for this plant.
