Kreul Javana
Black BeautyColour
Product details
With Kreul Javana Batik textile dyes, creatives can color their fabrics using the Shibori technique. They can immerse the fabrics or simply refresh the colors. Ordinary textiles become unique pieces, and old items can be vibrantly recycled. Whether it's pillowcases, tablecloths, fabric bags, T-shirts, scarves, or bed linens – with the right color combination, batik and dyed fabrics are a real eye-catcher.
Dyeing occurs at temperatures ranging from 50 °C to 95 °C – either with hot water in a bucket or on the stovetop in a pot. Using 70 g of dye powder (see packaging label) results in an intense color for 200 g of fabric and a medium color for 400 g of fabric. Suitable for silk, cotton, viscose, linen, half-linen, wool, and polyamide. The ready-to-use dye powder contains dye salt and is available in a practical bottle for optimal dosing and storage.
The low dyeing temperature of 50 °C allows for wax batik. Dyed textiles are not colorfast – washing will lighten the fabric. The Kreul Javana fixing agent for batik textile dyes improves wash resistance. Dyed textiles should be washed separately and at a maximum of 40 °C. The fluorescent color Neon Light glows under black light.
There are various fabric dyeing techniques:
- Shibori: Patterns are created by binding, folding, and knotting. Rubber bands, cable ties, or packing string can be used for this.
- Wax batik: Liquid wax is applied to the white fabric. The fabric is then dyed in color. After drying, the wax is ironed out, revealing the white patterns.
- Dip-dye: The fabric is dipped into the dye and left for a while, allowing the color to soak in and creating a beautiful, irregular edge.
Batik textiles not only look great, but the process of batiking is also a lot of fun: first, the dyeing and stirring in the pot, and in the end, the surprise of what pattern emerges.
