Kartell Ami Ami

The chair Ami Ami (its name literally means "weaving" in Japanese) was inspired by the way patterns and textures are woven into a fabric. It emerged from designer Tokujin Yoshioka's desire to reproduce one of the style icons typical of his country - weaving. The simple square lines contrast with the richness of the weave, achieved on both the inside and outside through a complex industrial process that replicates the motif with a single form. Ami Ami combines the charm of Eastern culture with the use of innovative materials such as polycarbonate. It is available in two transparent versions - crystal and smoke - as well as in three matte versions - red, white, and black.
