How does the Ecocel work? Water enters the unit through a spray head, which distributes it evenly over a foam sheet. Solid particles in the water are trapped in the foam sheet. Almost free of solids, the water then flows through plastic biomedia, where beneficial bacteria clean pollutants. The amount of biomedia contained in the filter increases proportionally to the size of the pond/filter to support a larger number of fish. The cleaned water then flows back into the pond through a discharge pipe. Use the viewing window to observe the internal operation of the filter, which helps indicate whether maintenance is required.
