Hobbes SMART Digital Cable Finder and Test Device Kit

The SMARTone & SMARTprobe network cable tester and tracker is an excellent tool for network installation and troubleshooting. It utilizes advanced digital signal technology to find and identify installed cables with high precision and speed, while avoiding noise and false signals through digital technology. The device set includes not only the SMARTone tone generator and the SMARTprobe cable finder but also a cable tester that checks cable continuity, telephone service (polarity), and wiring in a pin-to-pin manner.

It employs digital signal technology to avoid noise and false signals, quickly and accurately locating and identifying installed cables alongside the cable finder. It can identify cables in a bundle or in front of a patch panel and sends digital/analog tones in two modes: continuous tone and alternating tone. The SMARTprobe distinguishes tone signal strength in nine levels and displays the result on an LED bar and audibly.

It offers a pin-to-pin test for detecting open, shorted, twisted, crossed, and otherwise miswired cables, as well as a telephone service and polarity test: +Polarity, -Polarity, Ringing. With auto power-off and battery status indication, it is also compatible with the IEEE802.3af standard.
