Online Test: Displays the port status of the Ethernet port, pings the default router, pings the DNS server, and pings custom devices.

Offline Test: Wiring plan, twist plan, cable length, tone generator, and port finder.

  • Displays voltage and polarity when present.
  • Troubleshooting for: open, shorted, swapped, twisted, spliced, and incorrectly connected cables. Also applies to shielding.
  • Results presented in pin-to-pin format.
  • Displays the ID of the remote unit.
  • Measures the cable length for each pair in Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6, and Cat7 cables without a remote unit (TDR method).
  • The self-calibration feature improves accuracy when measuring non-standard cables.
  • Displays measurement results optionally in meters or feet.
  • Port finder function detects the addressed port on the hub or switch.
  • Tone generator sends a 1 kHz tone signal through all pairs with 4 pitch levels.
  • RJ-45 connection protection safeguards the device from damage caused by high voltage on telephone cables.
