The HECO-VB wood-concrete composite system avoids the demolition of existing wooden ceilings and the creation of new concrete structures. This allows valuable building substance to be preserved, and the interesting combination of wood and concrete opens up new design possibilities. The wooden beam absorbs tensile forces while the concrete acts as a compression plate. The shear-resistant connection is achieved through cross-arranged VB fasteners. This reduces the deflection of the ceiling structure and significantly increases load-bearing capacity. The HECO-VB composite system can now also be used with multi-span beams.
