This allows the measuring instrument to be tested without the need for personal protective equipment before checking live or de-energized power sources. However, depending on the working conditions, minimal personal protective equipment may still be required when using the Proving Unit, such as safety glasses or earplugs.

Using the PRV240 reduces the risk of electric shocks and arc flash incidents, as you do not have to expose yourself to potentially hazardous electrical conditions when verifying the functionality of a measuring device before checking for voltage presence.
