The Monstera Deliciosa, also known as Ceriman, Swiss Cheese Plant, Mexican Breadfruit or Delicious Monster, originates from the forests of Central and South America and has adapted to the light conditions there due to the specific leaf shape. It has dark to medium green, shiny leaves, with few and not deep incisions in leaves formed under low light, while leaves formed under relatively high light have strong and numerous incisions. Due to its origin, the window leaf needs only moderate water and feels most comfortable in a bright and warm location without direct sunlight, which gives the popular trend plant the necessary space to develop its perfect beauty. Monstera deliciosa thrives very well at room temperature (not permanently below ca. 20 °C.) and can also flower in indoor cultivation if well cared for.
