Perfect extraction. Optimal protection. The arc milling hood is a protective and extraction hood used with the Compact Module System CMS. It is primarily used in conjunction with milling cutters that have ball bearings. The extraction is perfect, as the chips are captured right where they are generated. Additionally, the transparent protective hood provides an optimal view of the workpiece. The ball bearing brake prevents the ball bearing from spinning up, thus reducing burn marks on the workpiece. Both the protective hood and the ball bearing brake are adjustable in height. The hood is suitable for profile milling on freeform parts with ball bearing cutters, as well as for copying milling using templates.
